The last ACP 600k event in the 48 contiguous states for those who couldn’t get in their pre-reg brevets earlier in the year.
The 600k will be unsupported. Hence the cheap and cheerful registration fee. The Quality Inn (soon to be rebranded Best Western) Encinitas is located about a block from the start and finish location (RWGPS map will be updated). As a 3-leaf clover route, you return to the Encinitas Park & Ride after each 200k to eat, resupply and to grab a quick nap either in your car or at the motel.
These isn’t much to be said about the route. The first 200k journeys inland for some bit of climbing. The following two 200k loops will be primarily coastal. Be forewarned that the ride to and back from Orange County will require being on I-5. The Coronado loop will go through heavy urban areas with heaps of traffic lights. There will be no fanfare at the finish.
While not the most scenic 600k and very much unsupported, you will notch your 600k for that coveted “Second” PBP Pre-registration group for better start group selection.
Nick as the ride organizer will be riding this 600k on the day as well.
