Nothing better to burn off those excess calories from that sumptuous turkey dinner than to go for a post-Thanksgiving 100k ride in the Inland North County that entails both physical and mental effort.

For this Thanksgiving Saturday, we are putting on the “Ramona Rendezvous 100k”. The twist for this populaire is that no electronic navigation will be provided. 1 hour before the start (or when you decide to show up before roll time at 8:00), you will receive a printed route sheet and a brevet card. You will navigate only by route sheet. Your proof of passage will be documented with the use of the brevet card, for which you will stop at each control to collect receipts or answer silly questions about that control. Don’t forget to bring a writing instrument.

Keep in mind that “elder” randonneurs (those whose RUSA number is less than 10000) have completed countless brevets relying on printed route sheets and brevet cards before RWGPS and Strava were around. This populaire is like learning/relearning how to drive a stick shift car or write with a fountain pen.
