we’ll head up to Fallbrook for a “relaxing” century that will take you to the backcountry of North Inland San Diego. This route will first take you up Sleeping Indian Rd to Fallbrook and Rainbow from where they’ll proceed down Rice Canyon Rd to tackle Couser Canyon Rd.

Back down on Circle Rd Rd to Old Hwy 395, you will face the infamous “Champagne” climb (not particularly difficult ascent, but its infamy is due to the boring scenery which makes its 2 miles seem like infinity). Upon reaching Escondido, you will ride on Harmony Grove Rd/Elfin Forest Rd to the community of San Elijo before making their way out to the coast, seeing the wide expanse of the Pacific Ocean as you descend into Solana Beach. A short jaunt along the coast and you’ll be back at Pizza Port to celebrate your finish with a cold beverage and pizzas.

This populaire is scheduled for you late deciders looking to qualify for the RUSA Rouleur Award. While you may be relaxing as you meander your way on rural roads, this route is not easy. There are short but challenging climbs throughout your journey.
